Ms. Pfaffinger’s students work in a primarily digital environment accessible via the internet from both school and home. The class follows the district curriculum and meets the same course objectives as the other English I courses. All instruction takes place in a traditional classroom setting, but the majority of student work is assigned, completed, and recorded online. Each student will be assigned a computer for use during class with their own school account.
Student assignments and supporting materials are available on Google Classroom. All applications we use, and the student accounts, are accessible at home and by parents, and parents are welcome to log on at any time. http://classroom.google.com Log-in: (student) [email protected] Password: 8 digit id number (if you have a 5 digit number, add 000 to the front of the number)
Students may use personal electronic devices during class with Ms. Pfaffinger’s permission. Ms. Pfaffinger may confiscate the device for the duration of the class period if the student fails to use it for class purposes.
Rules Be prompt – Be on time for class and with your work. Be prepared – Come with materials and a good attitude. Be productive – Use your class time for classwork. Be polite – Respect everyone, including yourself. Be patient – Give everyone space and time to learn.

POLICY 2310 – REQUIRED COURSE READING Required readings are a part of our district curriculum. Objections to assigned readings should be brought to the teacher's attention, as alternate assignments may be available. If an objection is submitted, the teacher will then select the alternate reading option from the appropriate course/grade level on the District-approved reading list so as to provide the student with an independent study opportunity. This reading list is available on the District webpage.
